Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

About ‘Scorpionfish @ Komodo, Indonesia’ by Travel Tips and Stories

Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) in Komodo National Park are renowned for their phenomenal camouflage and venomous spines. There are various species, of which the Leaf Scorpionfish and the Weedy Scorpionfish (Rhinopias) are the most iconic for divers in this area.
Characteristics of the Scorpionfish in Komodo
Appearance and Camouflage: They often have a flattened body and are masters of disguise, allowing them to blend perfectly into the corals, sponges or as a ‘floating dead leaf’ in the water.
Colours: They come in bright, contrasting colours such as purple, bright green, yellow, red and brown.
Behaviour: They are ambush predators. They barely move and wait patiently for an unsuspecting small fish or shrimp to come close before striking with lightning speed.
Danger: The dorsal fins contain poisonous spines. Although they are not aggressive, a painful sting is possible if you accidentally touch them.
Location in Komodo: They are often spotted on sandy slopes, near rubble or on reefs. Well-known dive sites where they are found include the northern and central areas of Komodo National Park.
