Scissor fish have an external very heart skeleton that reflects silver. Senses are set to an environment where it is almost dark any vibrations in the environment are detected with long antennae. Its speed makes prey hopeless and with its large beak it can amazingly devour prey of the same size. Flightless and very shy and therefore very difficult to observe. Happy to let this deep-sea character shine in all its glory on a wallpaper or colourful wall
Origin: This specimen was found at almost unreachable depths, in oceans far away. Due to its harsh habitat and icy waters, this exotic species has not been observed by humans before. In my role as 'Marine Biologist Inventor', I photographed it, gave it a Latin name and noted details such as location and size.

The KeiDiep avatars consist of photo parts, photographed both indoors and outdoors. Things that catch my eye such as: organic material with a 'skin', plants, washed-up wood, etc. Or parts of existing photos or objects. With these parts, I digitally build, paste, cut and polish a new character. Finally, I suggest depth, with shadow and transparency. As a result, some KeiDiep avatars consist of many (200 and more) different parts: a wonderful time-consuming shaping puzzle.
Inspiration: everything that grows and blooms fascinates me: that new species are discovered and disappear at the same time is bittersweet. All those special external appearances, amazing habits (rituals) of animals & the beauty of it all. They trigger my imagination to create my own species, my own zoo. With a wink and humour for joy.
