One of my favourite flowers in the garden. Doveweed is very photogenic, which is already one reason why I love having them in my garden. Pigeonweed also blooms for a very long time, another good reason. In addition, the flower attracts many bees and butterflies, another very good reason.
In the photo, this beautiful lilac-purple flower stands out well against the dark green background. By using a low depth of field, it really stands out and the flower stem is almost invisible.
Doveweed is also known as scabweed, not the prettiest name for such a beautiful flower. The plant blooms from May to October.
Regularly cut away the spent flowers so that the plant continues to flower well.
