Sassenpoort in Zwolle during a beautiful summer day. The Sassenpoort gate , built late 14th and early 15th century , the city wall was part of the defenses of the city Hanseatic city. The Sassenpoort was built in the early 1400s as part of the city's fortifications. It served both defensive and symbolic purposes, as it was a symbol of the city's wealth and power.
The gate is named after the Sassenstraat, a street that leads from the gate into the city center.
