About ‘Sara’ by Wim Romijn

SARA, het laatste boerenpaard van Midden-Limburg

Zodra Sara de bellen van het haam hoort, draaft ze naar het weidehek. Met een schommelende derrière stapt ze vanaf de dorpsboerderij opgetuigd naar het buitengebied; bij iedere stap zijn de heldere klanken van de bellen te horen. Uit zichzelf stopt ze bij een akker met aspergebedden, haar werkterrein. Zij zal het werk doen waar ze voor is opgeleid, zonder te murmureren of verzet te bieden. Gewoon aan de slag gaan, geen poespas. Met een planet worden de looppaden tussen de bedden geploegd. De gaten in de bedden, die ontstaan bij het steken van de asperges, kunnen met de losse grond worden opgevuld.

Het boerengezin is voor de veldwerkzaamheden afhankelijk van de inzet van Sara. Naburige boeren maken eveneens gebruik van haar kracht en werklust wanneer hun aspergeveldjes geploegd of jonge aspergeplanten aangeaard moeten worden.

Wanneer zij acte de présence geeft, is er geen microfonist die ten overstaan van publiek haar naam scandeert. Na het veldwerk geen applaus voor haar prestatie. De naam van een sponsor zal nooit met haar naam verbonden worden.

Groningen-based painter, illustrator and author Wim Romijn enjoys international fame as a horse painter. He also paints farm animals and wildlife. His designs and illustrations served to make greetings cards, calendars, posters, embroidery kits, portfolios and giclées.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
