This black-and-white image captures the hushed beauty of the sand drifts on the Hoge Veluwe. On the left in the foreground is a solitary tree, its silhouette a tribute to nature's resilience. To the right lies weathered wood, a silent witness to the changing landscapes shaped by wind and time.

The Hoge Veluwe is known for its dynamic sand drifts-a rare ecosystem in which wind, sand and vegetation form an eternal interplay. The changing patterns and structures in the landscape, enhanced by the monochrome tones of this photograph, emphasise the raw elegance of nature. This artwork exudes tranquillity, mystery and the untamed power of the Veluwe sand.

Sometime in 1980 Jan bought his first SLR camera and since that time a camera has always been at his fingertips. His varied work ranges from snapshots of people in his immediate surroundings to landscape, macro and bird photography. He is also the regular photographer of his wife's ballet school and thus regularly at work in the theater.
