When military personnel of the US land and air forces get into trouble in a conflict zone, they can always count on the US Air Force's Combat Search and Rescue units. Flying the HH-60 Pave Hawk, these units take care of picking up airmen who have crashed behind enemy lines or transporting wounded soldiers to hospital. These helicopters are equipped to refuel in the air for long missions, have special equipment to have good visibility 'at night and are heavily armed to protect themselves against attacks.
Just after sunset, this Pave Hawk is on its way for a night mission, often the best time to do their job unseen.
