A present for me and my camera. During our stay in Japan, we ended up at the Aoi Matsuri in Kyoto (Hollyhock Festival) by chance.
The Aoi Matsuri is known as one of Kyoto's three main festivals, and the star of the show (and this photo) is a young woman called Saio-Dai, who leads the parade. The Saio-Dai was originally a woman from the imperial household attached to the shrine who would perform rituals during the event.
All my life I have been a real 'maker'. Whether if it's with real material or digital. I like to make things tangible and visual. In my daily life I work as a graphic designer, so making great visuals is something that really gets me going.
