Sail Amsterdam / IJmuiden sail out 2025 at sunset

For 3 days, I had a great time at various locations during Sail Amsterdam 2025 edition.
I shot more than 400 high-quality photos's of this event. The very best photo's were the very last 5 on the digital roll on the pier of IJmuiden during sail out. No fewer than 4 tall ships in this photo in the golden quarter in 1 image, and all of them nicely spread throughout the photo. The middle tall ship was lying with its nose in the wind to lower the sails...perfect!
Luckily, I had my 200-600 mm telephoto lens with me and was able to leave other distracting elements out of the picture by zooming in to the maximum. Everything fell together perfectly in the very last series of photos'of Sail Amsterdam. Colour, balance in the photo and no distracting elements.
After 3 days of shooting, I was very happy with the result of this successful unique photo! For this photo, I chose a landscape format. In my album you will find another photo of Sail out at IJmuiden in a portrait format and this one is slightly different. Meanwhile, this photo, too, is now hanging life-size on the wall outside in our garden and we will be able to enjoy this wonderful event for years to come.
