Sail Amsterdam 2015 was the ninth edition of this large-scale nautical event, which took place from Wednesday 19 to Sunday 23 August. With more than 600 ships, including 44 unique Tall Ships from all over the world, naval vessels and sailing heritage, boating enthusiasts had a great time. The Sail-In parade, with the impressive fleet entering Amsterdam's IJhaven via the North Sea Canal, was an absolute highlight and, along with the rest of the event, attracted some 2.3 million visitors. Besides admiring the ships, there were various activities and performances, including daily highlights on NPO 1 and a dazzling fireworks show every evening. The Sail Thank You parade on Sunday 23 August marked the departure of the Tall Ships towards IJmuiden.
