A view of the famous Sacre Coeur church, in the Montmartre district of Paris.
The most famous building in Montmartre, which you can see from all over the district due to its position on top of a hill.
Completed in 1914, this church has a height of 84 metres.
I took this image just after sunrise, when the soft light illuminated the building. Because of the early hour, it was still very quiet and I was able to take this image without any tourists walking into the picture.
This image was taken from the park right in front of the church, where steps lead back to the city. This viewpoint makes you look up at the building and brings it into sharper focus. The green of the park gives this image a nice colour contrast and the clouds in the sky add a playful element.
I also have a black and white version of this image available
