About "SS Rotterdam"

About the artwork

The Rotterdam was originally designed as a running mate for the popular New Amsterdam (II) of 1938, but the design work was put stop due to the outbreak of World War II. When economic conditions had improved that people started to think, again beginning in 1954 on the construction of the ship so it was clear that at the time of the trans-Atlantic passenger would end. The designers had in mind when they designed a highly innovative ship, a ship with two classes, horizontally separated by moveable partitions and a unique double staircase that a simple modification made ??to a class cruise ship possible.
The power plant was placed on three quarters from behind and instead of chimneys ship got two modern flues. To give a streamlined profile the ship was a large deckhouse amidships placed on top of the building where the chimney would normally stand. This was a controversial ship for that time, but that profile would later prove to be and various parts of the design in later cruise to find. Groundbreaking

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
