Amid the green Achterhoek countryside lies Ruurlo Castle, a pearl of history and architecture. Originally built in the late Middle Ages, the castle has undergone many renovations and restorations over the centuries. The result is an elegant fusion of styles, surrounded by an idyllic estate with ponds, ancient trees and graceful avenues.
Today, the castle is best known as one of the locations of Museum MORE, which exhibits works by Carel Willink, among others. Inside, every room breathes history: high ceilings with wooden beams, large windows overlooking the gardens and an interior where art and heritage reinforce each other.
Outside, the English landscape garden and peaceful water surrounding the castle invite walking and photography. In the morning, when a light mist still hangs over the pond, time seems to stand still for a moment.
Ruurlo Castle is not only a destination for art lovers, but also for those who want to enjoy a day of rest, culture and nature. It is a place where past and present meet and where every visitor takes home a piece of the magic.
