Rural Romanticism IV - Peonies in a Vintage Chest

by Marlika Art

The combination of the old wooden chest and the beautiful farm roses creates an image with a romantic-rustic aura that is reminiscent of an old farmhouse. Old chests can be found especially in old farms and country houses. They tell a story and remind us of times long past. Such and similar motifs can be found on old oil paintings and they radiate a special beauty and tranquillity.
Farm roses are still very popular today as romantic decoration, e.g. for wedding celebrations or for bridal bouquets.
Peasant roses, also known as peonies, bloom between May and June and stand out because of their particularly large and lush flowers. Their beautiful pastel shades are also gorgeous and go tone on tone.
The picture fits into many interiors, as it is a classic motif, but especially into country-style interiors or boho vintage and shabby chic.
You can find the picture series "Rustic Romanticism" and other similar motifs in my album "Peonies".
