If you are on the top of the mountain Gaustatoppen in Norway, you have a beautiful and grand view of the surroundings. The Gaustatoppen itself is 1883 meters high and therefore the highest mountain in the province of Telemark. And that means that you can see very far from the mountain. From the top you should be able to see a sixth of mainland Norway.
In the photo you can see part of that largest view. You look at the rugged mountains and a number of lakes in the vicinity of the Gaustatoppen, on the east side. It looks like a kind of no man's land or moonscape. The mountains and rocks only have the typical, green-yellow moss that you encounter in many places in Norway.
The picture doesn't show how big those mountains and lakes are, but I estimate that the mountains in the foreground are about a hundred to a few hundred meters high.
The moment I took the photo, some rain was just passing over those mountains. At the same time, there was also a faint sun. Behind the storm you can see the sun illuminating another mountain.
