Royal Air Force F-16 Orange Jumper.
Registration: J-066.
The General Dynamics F-16B MLU Fighting Falcon with registration J-066 was the Royal Air Force's test aircraft for many years. The aircraft was best known by the name Orange Jumper.
The Orange Jumper had been the test aircraft of the Royal Air Force since 1998. The aircraft could be recognised by its extra-long red and white pitot tube and a large black and white plane on top of the right wing. The air force used this aircraft to test new instruments, but also to investigate, for example, wing loading. The aircraft was stationed at Leeuwarden Air Base for many years but spent its last days at Volkel Air Base.
After the aircraft was withdrawn from service in 2023, it can be admired at the National Military Museum in Soesterberg.
This photo was taken on 24 June 2020 at Leeuwarden airbase.
