About ‘Rotterdam Queen Bridge’ by Angelique Niehorster

The Koninginnebrug is a bridge over the Koningshaven in Rotterdam, next to the Hef.

The bridge connects the Noordereiland with the district Feijenoord. The first Queen's Bridge was a swing bridge built in 1870. After fifty years, the bridge was an obstacle to both shipping and road traffic; it was also not suitable for trams.
