About ‘Ring riding or Sjeesjeriding on Walcheren.’ by anne droogsma

It’s wonderful to see how the woman here is trying to thread the pole through the ring. Ring riding, or ‘Sjeesjerijden’, is a spectacle organised regularly in Walcheren during the summer. A Belgian horse pulls the well-groomed Sjees, and two people in traditional costume are trying to get the job done. It is a wonderful event that the participants take very seriously, particularly when it comes to looking their best in their outfits. A course has been marked out and the horses’ hooves thunder through the streets of many a village. The participants are cheered on by villagers, and the tourists who have flocked to the event enjoy this folkloric spectacle to the full. If you happen to be in Walcheren in the summer, you really must go and see it.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
