Rhinos are known for their imposing horns, which are both a trademark and a symbol of strength. These horns play an important role in territorial defence and mate finding. Unfortunately, rhinos are threatened by poaching, especially for their valuable horns. Therefore, in the national parks, the horns are trimmed, as seen in this picture, to protect the rhinos from poachers. The protection and preservation of these majestic animals require worldwide conservation efforts. By the way, this rhino has a wound on the back of its neck from a fight with a hippo. Red-billed oxpeckers - called "guardians of the rhino" in Kiswahili - sit on the rhino's neck to peck at parasites in the wound. Rhinos play a crucial role in the ecosystem. As herbivores, they influence vegetation and contribute to biodiversity. Their protection is therefore crucial for the balance of nature. With this canvas picture of an endangered African animal species, you set a sign in your home.
