About the artwork

Heuer, Heuerlingswesen (also called Häuslingswesen) refers to a common, sometimes and in some places decisive form of the agricultural constitution in Westphalia and Northwest Germany from the 17th century to the first half of the 20th century. The legal basis was contracts between farmers and landless, de facto sham self-employment or tenants, which provided the farmer with cheap manual and clamping services, as well as payments in cash and in kind, and the tenants with a roof over their heads and a piece of farmland in exchange. Hüerlings were not fully-fledged members of the farming community. They did not have the right to vote, did not have to pay church money, but did have to pay to make phone calls. The linguistic "legacy" of this creature can still be found today in the expression "hire someone"...

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
