Visions from a future past.
Depiction of a close up area of a jungle based megacity, specifically where the recycled water makes it's way back in to the ecosystem via cascading waterfalls set in the side of a natural feature. The final flow comes out from underneath a gigantic facility or perhaps simply an observation deck.
In the background the main central structure is flanked by multiple towering spires with a nearby star or perhaps this planet's moon looming overhead against a vibrant sky that just barely obscures the sea of stars.
The whole overlooks a lake that stretches out towards the viewer, surrounded by lush vegetation.
Like all my work this piece is inspired by the commercial art of the 1970s and 1980s, specifically the science fiction and fantasy art of my youth as found on book covers/video game box art/comics/advertisements/movie posters/vhs sleeves etc. of those eras.
I hope to convey the sense of wonder and outlandishness that this "genre" imparted and continues to impart in me, a future that while sometimes a little bit on the spooky side was at least thrilling and, ultimately, optimistic about humanities endeavors and adventures yet to come.
