I made this painting as part of the painting competition of the program:"The secret of the master" which was about the reconstruction of "The Night Watch " by Rembrandt. The assignment was to be inspired by "The Night Watch". To do so, I gave "The Night Watch" a new look in my own style, namely painted in my own cubist, abstract style. There are also some jokes in it, like the girl with a bunch of flowers in her hand. "After all, the Night Watch" was always a group of men with weaponry, guarding the city. Women often bring gentleness to that world, hence the flowers in her left hand. The little dog, which can also be seen in "The Night Watch" is our own little dog. Rembrandt also always showed a personal thing in his paintings, himself, his son or his wife. That's why I incorporated my dog in it.
I called the painting "Rembrandt meets Raben". In real life, this painting is 100 x 60 cm. and is painted with acrylic paint.
