This place on the Mosel with its beautiful castle towering high above everything and everyone stole my heart. During my holiday, I woke up very early and went to photograph during this insanely beautiful sunrise, not regretting it for a moment. Germany and especially the Moselle Valley has many magical places and this is definitely one of them.

Located in Germany's picturesque Moselle Valley, Cochem is loved for its picturesque location, historic architecture and wine production. The charming centre with half-timbered houses and narrow streets offers numerous restaurants and wine cellars. The area is ideal for hiking and cycling through vineyards and along the river, attracting photographers and artists for its breathtaking landscapes and photogenic vineyards.

Reichsburg Cochem, an iconic castle built around the year 1000 and rebuilt in the 19th century, is one of the most striking sights. With imposing towers and thick walls, the castle offers stunning views over the Moselle valley and a richly decorated interior. The castle's majestic location and dramatic silhouette make it a favourite subject for photographers and artists.

The castle is open to the public with guided tours highlighting its history and architecture, as well as events such as medieval festivals. Together, Cochem and the Reichsburg are a perfect destination for lovers of history, culture and nature, with their picturesque town, beautiful river landscapes and a majestic castle that continues to inspire.
