This photo was taken from Maashaven harbour east side in Rotterdam, on a sunny and almost windless day. It is a so-called reflectification: I have flipped the photo of the reflection around its horizontal axis. This creates the remarkable illusion of looking up from under the water surface.
Here we see two new residential buildings on the so-called Wrist of Katendrecht, with mainly red and brown colors. In between, lighter tinted, are the Rotterdam building and Erasmus Bridge. In the foreground we see the light brown of the quay and the bright white of a river cruise ship. The color palette is completed by the blue of the sky.
My work can be found in the border regions of photography, painting and computer visuals. With my company 3Develop I do work in commission but I use the same techniques, skills and software to make free work.
