A sea of deep red tulips fills the landscape from edge to edge. The flowers stand close together, their petals firmly closed or just unfurled, gleaming in the soft light. In the distance, a green row of trees marks the transition between the manicured bulb field and the landscape of the Northeast Polder beyond. This sculpture is an ode to colour, to structure and to the Dutch cultural landscape in bloom.
The repetition of shapes and shades creates an almost graphic pattern, while the natural surroundings in the background balance the image. The intensity of the red contrasts beautifully with the fresh green leaves, enhancing the vibrancy of the moment. The build-up in layers, flowers, rows, trees, gives depth to the composition.
For those who love nature, flower culture, patterns and Dutch landscapes, this work offers a powerful visual statement. It shows the tulip in its most expressive form: massive, bright and full of energy. A snapshot of a season in which everything comes together.
