Beautiful red sandstone formations photographed in Lower Antelope Canyon in Arizona, USA.
The canyon was formed under the influence of centuries of violently flowing water on the sandstone. The rock formations have all kinds of shades of red, from yellow to orange and from red to purplish brown. The light falls in from above here and there, creating a beautiful shadow play. The different shades of red, the whimsical formations and the play of light on the rocks conjures up a very photogenic landscape. Challenging to capture because it is quite dark for the camera and you are not allowed to bring a tripod. Moreover, you can only visit this canyon in a group accompanied by a guide so standing at ease and taking all the time you need for a photo is out of the question.
But wow, how worthwhile it was.
