During my trip through Italy, I visited the city of Verona and in particular the Casa di Giulietta (Juliet's house). Everyone knows the love story between her and her beloved Romeo and the balcony is therefore world-famous. This is therefore the place for couples in love to hang their so-called love lock, indeed you can buy them in the little souvenir shop next to the square. I found this wall full of bright red clasps with thousands of names almost more beautiful than the balcony and the statue itself, so I photographed them fullscreen with a nice result.
Love locks are a beautiful symbol of love and connection. They are a romantic ritual where lovers engrave their names or initials on a lock and then attach it to a bridge or fence. The key is often thrown into the water, a beautiful metaphor for love that remains eternal, unbreakable and indestructible. Especially in romantic cities like Verona and Venice, this tradition has become a joyous expression of love.
These colourful clasps, shining everywhere, bring a touch of magic to the city. They reflect the countless stories of love shared in that place. For couples, it is a special moment to make their love tangible, a memory that connects them to a particular place as well as to each other.
