About ‘Red lips and blue eyes’ by Jeroen Quirijns

This piece dates from 1999; you can see that I was experimenting, probably influenced by Dalí. It was fun to do, but it was a one-off; I do recognise something of my earlier work in it, but I’ve since gone down a different path. A deformation of a face, yet it is still a face; probably because of the title, but the eye "verraad" the face. Despite my current busy paintings, this is a moment of calm just before the turn of the century. Warm in tone and with beautiful, graceful lines. The four supporting colours do not make it too busy; they remain balanced in the space and support the interplay of lines. As always, I work with oil paint; it produces by far the most beautiful and natural colours, and it gives you the freedom to make small corrections and/or easily remove elements.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
