Painting with fresh colours of the so-called Rooie Donders in Almere-Buiten.
These 3 apartment buildings are really impressive. They are easy to see from the A6 motorway. They tower proudly above the landscape and stand out because of their bright red colour.
It may not be easy to see from this vantage point, but they are built in the shape of old grain silos. Architecturally a unique feat.
These red buildings are a particularly striking beacon in Flevoland's flat polder landscape.
You can tell it is summer by the colours of nature around the buildings. The trees are full of leaves and the grass is parched yellow. The sky is bright blue and, together with the buildings, can be seen beautifully reflected in the water.

My grandfather was an amateur painter and, with an eye for detail, copied paintings by famous Dutch painters. Every time I smell oil paint, I imagine myself in his small studio where he spent hours.
Never thought I would adopt his love for art. But now I understand..
