Raphaël Collin (1850-1916) was a French painter and illustrator known for his combination of academic painting and impressionist influences. Born in Paris, he first studied at the art school in Saint-Louis and later in Verdun under Jules Bastien-Lepage. In Paris, he worked as an assistant to William Adolphe Bouguereau and became a professor at the École des Beaux-Arts in 1898. In 1909 he became a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
