The unwavering spirit of children ignites a glimmer of hope in me. Their ability to find joy and play, even amid unimaginable hardships, is a constant source of inspiration. When I watch them play tag in the ruins of war-torn cities or play football in impoverished neighbourhoods, I am reminded that the human spirit yearns for light even in the darkest of times. Their resilience and optimism inspire me to believe in a better future, a future they will inherit and shape.
My artistic playground is a vibrant mix of materials. I am a mixed-media artist, weaving together different elements such as newspaper texts, scraps from magazines and acrylic paint, among others. This allows me to break away from conventional boundaries and create unique works on different surfaces, from textured canvas to smooth paper.
I remembered that as a young girl I so much liked to cut images from magazines to paste them into school agendas, scrapbooks and even on my bedroom door. Add to this the fascination I always had for walls filled with old posters, flaking paint, scrappy billboards.. Read more…
