Above the characteristic colors of Curacao towers the Queen Juliana Bridge. The Queen Juliana Bridge is a high bridge over the Sint Annabaai in Willemstad (Curacao). The bridge was officially opened on April 30, 1974. The bridge is 56.4 meters high, allowing almost all large ocean-going vessels (except the largest cruise ships) to pass underneath. The bridge is only intended for car traffic; due to the wind and the mobility of the construction, pedestrian and bicycle traffic are prohibited. The Queen Juliana Bridge is the highest bridge in the Caribbean.
