The purple foxglove (Digitalis purpurea), also known as cinquefoil, foxglove, foxglove, our-love-woman's-glove, woodland bell, forest bell, is a plant species of the genus Digitalis in the plantain family (Plantaginaceae).
I found it in large numbers on a hike in the Harz Mountains along the Harzer Schmalspurbahnen railway parallel path. They smell marvellous and look fantastically beautiful, but are among the most poisonous plants in German forests.
