About ‘Purple and white’ by Angelique de Graay

Powerful. That's what this portrait is, a strong look. Beautiful but mysterious, the face is partially covered with plastic. This portrait was created with trash, white bags from the market. It is an 'Award winning Photo' made for contest theme 'Plastic'. Choking was the reason for making this portrait, there is so much too much plastic in the world. Gradually while shooting, the portrait became more sterile. Powerful make-up with purple and lilac brought a kind of coolness that is characteristic in my work.

Wherever you hang this work it is always present, despite being mostly white. It stands out, it looks at you, and yet it is subtle. The power is in hanging it large. Beautiful smooth materials are preferred, especially in a sleek, modern interior. A real eye-catcher!

Angelique is a photographer with a passion for unique, exceptional portraits. She has a special fascination with eyes. Of particular note is the uncertainty her young models have, and become confident in front of the lens. Makeup and body painting is also of her own making. Angelique has her own studio and does a lot of commissioned photography, but in her free time she makes special work. At home and abroad her work is exhibited, including recently Musee du Louvre in Paris.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
