Portrait of a Puffin, taken in Iceland. The puffin (Fratercula arctica, also English untranslated Puffin) is a striking bird from the algae family (Alcidae). It is easily recognized by its black and white plumage and large, brightly colored bill during the breeding season.
Because of his appearance and way of moving he is sometimes called "the clown of seabirds", and also more reverently "the priest".
