This morning, sunny palm landscape with a fantastic, mountainous hinterland, on whose highest hill lies the well-known tourist stronghold of Taormina, was taken on 28 October 2024 during my autumn photography trip to Sicily.
The motif was taken with the NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR 24.0-70.0 mm f/2.8).
Giardini Naxos is a coastal town with around 9,000 inhabitants in the province of Messina. Many believe that it was the first Greek settlement in Sicily and it owes its name to the Greek island of the same name, Naxos.
The town is located just a few kilometres from Taormina and is now one of the most popular seaside resorts on the Ionian coast. The pretty little town rises up along the coast of its beautiful bay, surrounded by green hills.
Those who visit this area of Sicily do so mainly for the beauty of its coastline, its beaches and its strategic location: it is close to many unmissable places such as Taormina, the Alcantara gorges and Mount Etna.
