A black and white impression from the Czech capital Prague.
The photo shows a typical Prague skyline with the Hradčany. The view leads over the Vltava river and the Malá Strana (Lesser Town) to the Prague Castle, in the center of which the mighty St. Vitus Cathedral is enthroned.
Construction of St. Vitus Cathedral began in 1344 and was not completed until 1929. For many centuries it served as the coronation church of Bohemian kings; today the cathedral of the Archbishopric of Prague is the landmark visible from afar in the skyline of the Golden City.
