The old walls, the light falling in through colonnade of the church which gives an angel-like effect on the horse. This setting combined with a horse gives a surreal and serene image which I like very much.
The horse in the picture is the Spanish stallion preferido, also called an Andalusian or a PRE ( pura raza espanola ). He is the sweetest, most beautiful, kindest horse I know and I always feel there is a wisdom and goodness behind those big dark eyes of his. He was therefore the perfect model for this picture.
What makes this photo extra special for me is the composition. It is not an everyday portrait, but a powerful and at the same time dreamy representation of this majestic animal. The placement of the horse in the frame, the play between light and shadow and the depth created by the colonnade make it an image that continues to fascinate. As a viewer, it feels as if you may secretly witness an intimate moment, a timeless scene in which the grandeur of the architecture and the elegance of the horse reinforce each other.
This work comes into its own beautifully in a spacious interior, such as a modern living room with high ceilings, where the depth and special composition are shown to their best advantage. It also makes a stylish statement in a minimalist or industrial interior. With its soft tones and peaceful look, it also fits perfectly in a bedroom, where it brings a sense of calm.
