Poppies
Last year, I had already thought of taking a photo with poppies.
The texture and colour of the petals of these flowers are really great!
But they are so fragile and delicate, they don't last long after picking.
So this summer I decided to grow them myself then, so that I would have enough to take photos's of them.
Unfortunately, about 1,000 ants decided to take up residence in the same flowerpot as my poppies....
So unfortunately, it didn't turn out to be very many poppies this year.
But luckily there were enough left to shine in my still life!
The ants didn't get to participate, but this handsome snail did get a part in my still life.
The little vase is one of my latest thrift store finds, perfect for a few pretty poppies.
And all this on my Italian photographer friend carlodenino's fantastic little wooden board !!!
A while ago, he made this one especially for me, so I can use it for my still lifes.
Using a special technique, he turns a new piece of wood into something that looks like it has been around for years.
