About ‘Pond in Haren Groningen’ by Marga Vroom
At the edge of Haren in the province of Groningen lies the nature reserve Sassenhein.
Once the swamps along the banks of the Drentsche Aa were peathed here and now it is a unique bird and fish paradise. Goosander, Osprey and Smew are just a few of the more than one hundred species that can be seen here.
