About ""Pixelated New York Rush""

by René van den Berg

About the artwork

This artwork captures the energy and dynamism of a typical New York City street, with iconic yellow taxi's racing through the city. The buildings on either side are abstract and composed of colourful, pixelated surfaces in shades of blue, orange, pink and beige, giving a sense of movement and blurring. This play of colours and shapes creates a rhythmic and almost futuristic cityscape, where the architecture and vibrancy of the city are emphasised by abstraction. The yellow taxis're the only recognisable element, giving them added emphasis as symbols of the city. The blurred outlines and vibrant colours evoke the hectic atmosphere of New York, where everything is in constant motion. This work is an abstract ode to the city, merging speed, light and chaos.
