The photo: "Pink transparency: Two leaves of the Bougainvillea" is a macro photo of pink spathe leaves of a Bougainvillea. These leaves were dried by the Spanish sunshine (in fact, I found these leaves in Lanzarote). Because the leaves are very thin and fragile, you can almost see through them. This makes it very easy to see the veins that are inside the leaves!
The beautiful, soft pink colours of the leaves give a very soothing soft effect to the photo.
The leaves lie on a mirrored background, which also has a kind of structure to it. This texture breaks up the reflection of the leaves and makes the reflection seem almost painterly and abstract. The depth of field of this photo is relatively small. I chose this to create a sense of depth in the photo.
This square still life has a calm look with different shades of pink. Simplicity and tranquillity exudes from this image, yet there seems to be something of dynamism in the leaves, because there are several of them in different positions.
As a wall decoration, this picture could, for example, hang beautifully in the waiting room, bedroom, bathroom or simply above the sofa! Also beautiful on the wall in a meeting room (business).
