Pine Spruce
The leathery cone fruits hang from the branches and turn brown in autumn. The seeds are then ripe, but cannot fall from the cone until the scales separate, which does not happen until the following spring. In the following fall, these cones then fall off.

Lein Kaland was born in 1954 in Vlissingen and started drawing at an early age. After secondary school he went to the Academy of Visual Arts in Arnhem where he came into contact with other techniques and artistic expressions and began to apply these disciplines.
