Pilot boat Orion underway in IJmuiden harbour.
The pilot boat and sea vessels with industry in the background. On a sunny crisp winter day along the quay of IJmuiden harbour. There I watch the ships sail by. The big and rough ships and heavy industry busy in the background.
The pilot boats sailing back and forth from the locks to the sea ships and back to the jetty. Waiting for the new job of piloting another sea ship into the harbour. Or piloting the big sea ship into the open North Sea.
Raw and the port as it is the people who work there. I like to photograph the images I see there because it is art in itself. The harbour is another world. The landscape of the port is always changing. The ships the people the landscape it continues to fascinate me.
