Pilot boat Lacerta at the IJmuiden pier.
The early morning sky is clear. A calm sea the pilot boat passing the pier of IJmuiden at high speed. The windmill park on the horizon in the North Sea.
The sun rises, the harbor is already busy, the ships sail in and out. The pilot boats and the cargo ships. It is a beautiful sight when such a pilot boat at high speed to sail. The bow wave is bubbling at the bow. The stern wave draws a beautiful line in the water. The yellow hull above the water and the fresh colors of the harbor beacon.
The crowd increases and the pilot is already on his way to the next ship.
Raw and the port as it is, the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always in motion. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
