The Père-Lachaise cemetery is the largest cemetery in Paris. It is situated on and around the Champ-l'Évêque hill in the 20th arrondissement near the Père Lachaise metro station.
With more than three million visitors a year, Père-Lachaise is the most visited cemetery in the world.
Today, the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise has 69,000 tombstones. There are 5300 trees.
There are many gravestones in serious decay and I try to capture them all in photographs on a weekly basis, randomly and at my leisure.
