A vibrant butterfly with orange, black, and white wing patterns is perched on green foliage. Its wings are fully spread, showcasing the distinctive eye-like spots which are a common feature in many butterfly species. Most people will recognize this as the peacock butterfly (Inachis io). I spotted it in the garden feeding on nectar from the myriad of flowers on an Elaeagnus bush.
