Nature reserve in the north of Berlin. 126 square kilometers are drained by the Tegeler Fliess, which meanders through the landscape on Berlin territory with a length of 14.5 kilometers largely close to nature before it flows into the Tegeler See. Extensive meadows, as well as alder bushes and gray willow trees line the river and form one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Berlin. The section of the river valley located between Arkenberge and the Humboldt Mill has been registered as an FFH and SPA area. Thanks to its structural richness, the area is home to a rich bird life, including some EU-protected species. It is an important habitat for amphibian and reptile species. The Natura 2000 site includes the LSG Tegeler Fliess and three nature reserves (NSG Niedermoorwiesen am Tegeler Fliess, NSG Kalktuffgelaende am Tegeler Fliess, both in Pankow, and NSG Tegeler Fliess in Reinickendorf).
