Peace and quiet on Terschelling – a cloudy sky over the Wadden Sea by Elianne van Turennout

On Terschelling, you never have to invite the sky to be dramatic. It lets itself in all right. Just take off your coat and put your feet up on the table. Relax! The clouds in the photo hang heavily over the landscape, whilst the blue keeps pushing its way through; as if it, too, has something to say. It is precisely this balance that makes this photo serene, yet not too tame.

The photo captures everything that makes the Terschelling dune landscape so striking and unique: the soft sand, the tough marram grass, the low vegetation, a solitary tree and the clear blue sea view. Hanging overhead is that typical Wadden Sea sky, which can change at any moment from glorious sunshine to a spectacular storm.

This landscape photograph of Terschelling is a perfect choice if you’re looking for unique Terschelling wall art, a Terschelling poster, wall art featuring the dunes or a poster of this beautiful island.
With its cloudy sky, dune path, the sea on the horizon and maritime atmosphere, this image is also ideal for anyone looking for Wadden Islands wall art, a Wadden Sea poster, North Sea art, nature on the wall or a photo for the interior of a holiday home.

This image looks lovely as a photo print, but is also perfectly suited to canvas, aluminium dibond or acrylic glass. A photograph for anyone who wants to relive their holiday memories: whether that’s in the living room, study, hall or holiday home. The sort of image that takes you back to that one moment: atop a dune — the wind in your hair — the sea in the distance.
