Misty winter woodland with small oak trees with one trunk crossing the footpath. I came across this scene when I was walking around in a forest with very small oak trees that looked ghostly in the mist. The little trunk looked like it was sliding across the path to get to the other side, which is what hugely appealed to me. I like the characters in my woodland photographs to be just the trees and not humans and so this tiny tree trunk became the main character of this awarded photo.
